Hafton Castle is a superb house with 19 bedrooms with en-suite showers, sleeping 42 persons. In addition to its wonderful indoor pool, it has a grand reception hall, a large drawing room and a small drawing room, (these two rooms open into one large room, ideal for Weddings, Reunions, parties etc) dining room, a billiard room, toy room, big conservatory and lots of outdoor space, plenty of space for the large number of people it sleeps. The magnificent front hall has plenty of seats, wood-burner and a grand piano. The castle was built by James Hunter, and its architect was David Hamilton who also designed Dunoon Castle. The house can also be reserved for smaller parties of 30 people and a special price can be arranged for this.
There is an extra charge of �500 per week to cover the use and heating of the indoor pool.
Outside the gardens have old trees, lawns and the views across the Loch are beautiful. The Castle can be reached from Glasgow Airport in approximately 45 minutes by car and guests usually arrive via the ferry which departs form Gourock and crosses the Firth of Clyde, a very romantic and atmospheric start to their stay at Hafton. There are many local activities, golf, swimming, clay pigeon shooting, sailing, fishing and quad biking to name but a few. Dunoon itself is the home of the Cowal Highland Gathering. Day trips can be taken to Bute and Wemyss Bay.
