A delightful 16th Century Grade II listed cottage near Landgate. Sleeps 4. There is a wealth of beams, large inglenook fireplace with woodburning stove and original bread oven. GCH. The main room has a 2 seater sofa and 2 armchairs, and a dining area for 4 people. There is an LCD TV with multi region DVD player, and radio/CD player. The kitchen has a fridge with icebox, microwave, electric cooker, kettle, toaster, iron and ironing board. The washing machine is on the first floor. From the kitchen, you step into the pretty courtyard garden, with table and chairs. On the first floor is the main bedroom with double bed, and the bathroom with a jacuzzi-style airbath, and hand- held shower attachment. The twin room is on the second floor, up some steep and narrow stairs. There are two 3' beds here.
The cottage is within walking distance of all the amenities in Rye including the Ypres Tower, Rye Museum, Lamb House and many antique shops and gift shops. There are several restaurants and coffee houses nearby. It is 3 miles from Camber Sands and Winchelsea beach, and in the vicinity are Battle Abbey, Smallhythe Place, and a further drive will take you to Leeds Castle, Dover, Canterbury and many other points of interest. We are also about 35 minutes drive from Eurotunnel should you fancy a day trip to France!
Included are towels, bed linen, gas and electricity, the first basket of logs for the woodstove, and a welcome bottle of wine. No smoking or pets.
