The Chapel House has the only kitchen we know with a stained glass window-the kitchen has been created in part of a 19th century private chapel. It is a galley style kitchen with electric oven and hob, dishwasher, fridge freezer, washer/dryer, microwave, kettle and toaster. A full compliment of crockery and cutlery is supplied. Next door is the unique dining room created from the corridor that originally attached the chapel to the 19th century mansion house. From the dining room, double doors lead on to a patio and large enclosed garden.
The sitting room in the Chapel House is both spacious and comfortable. This is a modern room, part of the architect designed extension to the existing 19th century chapel building. Comfortable seating, this is a light room with window facing south and west. There is a flat screen TV with integral DVD player, and a music system. The bookshelves are full of books and tourist information with suggestions for walks, eating out, visits, maps and some history of the house.
There is a separate dining room already described under the kitchen heading - it's a lovely dining room featuring original panelling, floor tiles, trefoil windows and tartan curtains over double doors that lead on to the patio.
In the knave of the chapel visitors can enjoy a game of badminton or table tennis. |
