Taigh a' Bhraoin has 4 bedrooms sleeping up to 8 people (plus a cot for baby). There are 3 wcs, 2 showers a bath and a sauna. The cottage is maintained to VisitScotland's 4 star grading and the lounge makes the most of the magnificent views across Loch Broom towards Beinn Dearg.
The cottage is built on the hillside but there are only 2 steps from the parking area to the front door. There is full living and sleeping accommodation on the ground floor of the house so the ambient disabled can be accommodated comfortably. The grounds extend through woodland to the shore of Loch Broom (although care is required as it is steep at points) and to the small lochs at the top of the hills. The garden has a patio, garden furniture and a barbecue and a hideaway to admire the views from.
The cottage is around 10 miles from Ullapool, with its shops, restaurants and bars. Ullapool is also the ferry port to Lewis in the Outer Hebrides with its historical standing stones at Calanais, Carloway Broch and the Black House at Arnol.
The area is renowned for its wildlife and spectacular scenery. Birdwatching, Walking, Mountaineering, Fishing, Sailing, Archeology & Geology, not forgetting Star Gazing are all popular activities in the area.
Worth a visit are: Ullapool Museum, Inverlael, The Bone Caves, Knockan Crag, Handa Island, Corrieshalloch Gorge, Stac Pollaidh, An Teallach, Beinn Dearg, Leckmelm Gardens, Sandwood Bay, Achmelvich Bay, Assynt, Inverewe Gardens, Lochinver Pie Shop.
