The main house used to be the stables of Milford House and was built during Queen Anns reign. In 1927 it was converted into a family house and a few years ago a self contained ground floor flat was created. It is now a Grade 2 listed building and retains many of its original features timber beams, cartwheel frame window and the stable courtyard which now forms a sunny south facing terrace which is for the use of the flat.
The fitted kitchen has a gas hob, electric oven, microwave, washing machine, dish washer and fridge. Gas fired central heating (and plenty of hot water) is provided. The flat is equipped with a radio, flat screen TV and CD player, but no phone. The bathroom has a bath and separate walk-in shower.
The bedroom has a double bed which can be converted into twins. Duvet, pillows and towels are provided. The large sitting room has a divan that is easily tucked away during the day. The dining table comfortable seats four.
The Norman church is directly opposite the house, whilst the village itself is a three minute stroll down the hill. Here you have every type of store, including newsagent, dispensing chemist, baker, butcher, off license, an HSBC bank with cash dispenser and two mini stores open 8am to 8pm. There is also a health centre, dentist and a choice of three pubs and three restaurants. The sea front and beaches is within a 10 minute walk whilst all the attractions of the New Forest are only a 10 minute drive away.
