The house is situated in a quiet rural location at the end of a private lane on the Tinnocks (private) Estate overlooking the Blackwater Estuary. The garden ends at the sea wall where there is access to a shingle beach. The local sailing club, Stone SC, can be seen from the house and is a short walk away along the sea wall.
The village of St Lawrence Bay has a general store/post office, two pubs & an Indian restaurant. The yachting town of Burnham-on-Crouch is 20 minutes drive away where there are shops, restaurants & a supermarket, together with steam trains & a museum. It is a similar distance to Maldon, home to the Essex sailing barges, where there are high street shops, restaurants, out of town supermarkets etc. There is a train service to London (Liverpool Street) from the village of Southminster which is approx 15 minutes drive away.
The area is a Site of Special Scientific Interest, being a winter feeding site for migratory birds. The wide expanse of water makes it a popular sailing area in the summer months.
The living accommodation is upstairs, together with the kitchen & one of the four bedrooms. There is ample parking in the front drive. The house is comfortable, spacious and well equipped, with books & toys available for our tenants' use.
Duvets, bed linen, towels & tea towels are provided, together with basic cleaning materials. Lets usually run from Saturday to Saturday but this can be varied.
