Rowthorne Village is an ideal location for that relaxing care-free break at anytime of the year. The village is only a 5 minute drive from junction 29 of the M1 yet it is almost in another world, set in the heart of beautiful Derbyshire countryside. There are ten houses scattered throughout the village with two working farms, both arable and live stock.
Pear Tree Farm itself was a working farm up to about twenty-five years ago when the farm and its outbuildings fell into disrepair. The then owners (Chatsworth Estate) decided to sell the property as five separate units and each one has been lovingly restored to a very high standard
Expertly converted in 2003 providing luxury self catering accommodation for a maximum of 4.
There are two en-suite bedrooms.
The ground floor suite has a luxury double bed, fitted wardrobes, chest of drawers, a full length mirror, a hair dryer and a full window wall. TV and DVD player. The en-suite shower room has a double sized shower cubicle with power shower toilet and wash basin.
The loft suite is accessed from the staircase in the lounge and offers a twin bedroom, with wardrobe space, chest of drawers, bed side tables and TV. The en-suite bathroom has a bath with shower over, wash basin and toilet.
The barn has fully automatic (oil fired) central heating (the cost is included in hire charge), with constant hot water all year.

The barn has a fully equipped, fully fitted kitchen, with microwave, electric cooker, extractor hood, fridge, kettle, toaster, oak cupboards, dishwasher and washer/dryer. There is a full complement of good quality utensils, cutlery, glasses and crockery. | | |
There is a spectacular 30' lounge/diner with vaulted ceiling and exposed king post trusses. Exposed stonework, a wood/solid fuel burning stove (for which there is an additional charge), TV, video, DVD and B&O; stereo.
The lounge has really comfortable furniture (some of which is antique), two rocking chairs and an oak dining table and chairs. Wall lights and feature spot lights create the mood and there is a selection of books, magazines, CD's and games to keep everyone happy. |
