The house is solid and characterful. Downstairs is a large dining kitchen and large former dairy, which houses all the domestic kitchen equipment. The lounge is spacious and has an open fire. There is a small dining room off the lounge. A staircase with half landing leads to a large landing area, two large double and two single bedrooms and the large family bathroom.
The Brotherswater Inn is a short walk across a couple of fields, and you can quickly join the footpath network which crosses Hartsop Hall Farm, with paths leading off in all directions - steeply up to the fells on most sides, or a more level stroll down to Brotherswater. Ullswater is three miles away, offering steamer trips, sailing and rowing boat hire.
Patterdale, three miles away, has a Post Office and general store for essentials. In spite of its remote location, Caudale Beck is only six miles from Ambleside (over the Kirkstone Pass), with its shops, restaurants and cinema.

Kitchen
The kitchen at Caudale Beck features a Rayburn which provides a wonderful cosy atmosphere to pervade the whole house. It also heats your water, is your cooking stove and airs your clothes! There is also a separate electric hob. There is a large pine dining table and six chairs, and the kitchen is equipped for six people. In the adjacent large utility room are all the "white goods".
Living Room
The lounge at Caudale Beck is a real feature, with its huge thick stone walls providing large window sills to the windows. There is an open fire (all fuel included in the rental) and storage heater. There is a feature spice cupboard adjacent to the fireplace. Seating is on three comfortable sofas, and there is a TV (reception via FreeSat) and DVD player. Off the living room is a small Dining area.
