17 Fairhaven is part of a modern complex of properties built originally to accommodate the sailors from the USA nuclear submarine fleet based on the Holy Lock.

It was updated and modernised in 1995 and now comprises seven blocks of apartments with some individual houses adjacent to each block. There is private parking on the estate for residents and guests with well maintained grounds and block paved courtyards festooned with shrubs, seats and flower beds. A team of gardeners regularly maintain the grounds. The estate is privately owned and is managed by a residents committee of elected members belonging to each block.

Our holiday home benefits from being an individual house adjacent to Islay residential block and best accessed from the nearby Argyll road. It overlooks a well maintained courtyard and has a choice of two car parks to the rear.

Not far from our holiday home there is the 18 hole Cowal Golf Couse and Hunters Quay Bowling Club.

Shops and two supermarkets are within a mile of the home at Dunoon. A newspaper shop and emergency provision store can be found close to the Hunters Quay ferry Terminal or at the Kirn Stores on the river front. Good meals can be eaten in the many local resteraunts of Dunoon, Hunters Quay or Sand Bank.

There are good activity centres and facilities all around and within Dunoon. Sailing at the Holy Lock Marina, Swimming in Dunoon Town Baths or the Hunters Quay Holiday Village, Childrens play at the West bay, Walks and Fishing.

Our modern fitted kitchen has a breakfast table and chairs, lots of cupboards and drawers.
There is a fridge a microwave, toaster, electric cooker with ceramic hobs and fan oven, a dish washer, pots pans crockery, kettle.

The washing machine has a drier as well.

The white units with dark worktops and a large broom cupboard provide ample storage room.

It has everything needed for good living whilst on holiday.
Living Room
Adjacent to the kitchen is our comfortable lounge and dining area. The blue carpet and terra cotta furniture make an attractive lounge with pictures paintings and tapestries on the walls. There is an electric fire and modern freeview television with a DVD recorder and player.

The lounge overlooks the two car parks, grassed grounds, footpaths and one of the central blocks of housing.

A large dining tale with four chairs plus a sideboard which houses games table cloths and cutlery as well as a drinks cupboard complete the features of our lounge.
Other Rooms
The bathroom and toilet is fully tiled and has a shower, heated towel rail, bath and washbasin. It is white clean and attractive with a plentiful supply of hot water from the electric immersion heater.
