The kitchen is a 'lean-to' addition to the original building but is in itself old also. Though fairly small it is well-equipped with fridge/freezer, electric cooker, washing machine etc. There is, in addition, a Rayburn cooker (oil-fired; oil is supplied) in the adjacent living/dining room which can be used to boil a kettle or for long, slow cooking of a casserole overnight. It mainly serves the purpose of keeping the heart of the cottage warm on those chillier days of Autumn or Winter. |
